Nicolás Maduro, and his counterpart from Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, committed themselves this Thursday to «boost the work agenda» among their countries, during a meeting in Russia, where they are on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army over Nazi Germany, said the Chavista leader.

Through Telegram, Maduro said it was an «excellent encounter», during which they also expressed their commitment to «cooperation to achieve the highest level of well -being» for both nations, which have signed 27 agreements as part of formalized bilateral relations in September 2003.
According to a statement from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the meeting «highlights the strengthening of relations between Latin America and Africa.»
The exterior portfolio said that it recognizes the position of the African country «in defense of international law», as well as «its firm rejection of unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States.»
«This political alignment reflects a coincidence in the fundamental principles that guide both nations, based on mutual respect and non -intervention in internal affairs,» he said.
In addition, the encounter in Moscow «not only symbolizes a step forward in the relations between Venezuela and Burkina Faso, but also represents a clear example of Bolivarian Paz diplomacy, focused on multipolarity and technical cooperation,» said the Foreign Ministry, in reference to its foreign policy.
Last January, according to the Ministry, a Burkinese delegation attended the investiture then held by Maduro in the Chavista National Assembly (AN, Parliament) for a third consecutive mandate of six years, after his questioned re -election on July 28, 2024, considered «fraudulent» by the majority opposition, which claims the victory of Edmundo González Urrutia.
The National Electoral Council (CNE), which proclaimed Maduro winner, has not yet published the broken down results of these votes, contrary to the provisions of the official schedule.
