Nicolás Maduro designates new Ministers of Environment and Sports

Nicolás Maduro appointed Ricardo Molina on Monday as the new minister for ecosocialism, while Franklin Cardillo was in charge of the Ministry of Sports.

He indicated that Molina’s main task will «lead the battle to mitigate climate change, which is already a reality.»

For his part, Cardillo commissioned «conducting the Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles and beyond, the entire sports massification process.»

In Maduro’s opinion, the new ministers are «two Venezuelans of good, two honest people, who come to reinforce the cabinet.»

On February 5, Maduro appointed as the new Minister of Agriculture the Governor of the State Yaracuy (Centro), Julio León Heredia, replacing Menry Fernández, who was appointed head of this office last August.

Maduro indicated that the objective is to «configure» the concept of «productive agroecological regenerative agriculture», to produce organic foods in the country, as well as to replace imports.
