The Guiteras is disconnected again and the blackouts rerecate throughout Cuba

The service of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, in Matanzas, at 8:15 in the morning of this Monday, fired again the electricity generation deficit throughout Cuba, with a predicted affectation of 1,680 MW in the peak schedule.

According to official sources, La Guiteras, the main generator of the country, will remain outside the national electrical system for a period of five days for «impossible maintenance».

On this new exacerbation of the blackouts, Cubans residing in several provinces of the country told Martí News that the situation is unbearable. In Havana, for example, the cuts of the service are already daily, Bicitaxist Antonio Font said.

«In Centro Habana, the current leaves, in El Vedado the current leaves, in Santos Suarez, October ten, in all the municipalities the current is leaving.

Meanwhile, electrical service interruptions continue to affect the villagers of the East of the island, said Teresa Miranda Céspedes from Mayarí.

«They put the current in the morning for a while and then they removed it again. You already know how this is, the calamity we are living, the lack of transport; people have no firewood to cook, it does not have a little oil to light the firewood,» said the activist.

Dámaso Alberto Fernández, from the community of San Andrés, located 19 kilometers from the city of Holguín, he said:

In total misery, like virtually all the provinces and neighborhoods of Cuba. From Guantanamo, Miguel Ángel López Herrera said that the stage with the blackouts in the provincial head is critical.

«The situation is deplorable. This is a country of zombies. At the point of sale of PAN, in the Ho Chi Minh neighborhood, there has been no bread for four days. When they give you the bread, finally, it does not reach 40 grams,» the activist warned.

Marta Domínguez, from Güira de Mamena, in Artemisa, concluded that what the residents of that town live are not blackouts, but a total lack of the service.

«What is no longer is current. Two hours are up to date, and in those two horites you have to do everything. Imagine, with an electric stove that takes a world … we are cooking with firewood, because neither coal can not be bought, because it is a scam, at 1,300 pesos the coal jacket,» he said.
