Two students were arrested in Venezuela for allegedly pouring chlorine in the water bottle of a classmate, the Public Ministry (MP, Prosecutor’s Office) reported on Saturday.
Through his Instagram profile, the MP said, citing the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, who both the alleged victim and the young people arrested are 16 years old.
The adolescents, the institution added, were carrying out an activity «in chemistry classes», when they allegedly added chlorine in the «thermo of water» of another student, which caused the young «health problems.»
The Prosecutor’s Office reported that the incident occurred in a school in the Venezuelan State in Yaracuy (North).
In 2022, Saab said that between January and April of that year his office had prosecuted 74 cases linked to bullying.
In a televised statement, Saab explained that the actions that the Prosecutor’s Office was taking were to make visible this problem, give contributions to start building a state policy against bullying and violence among minors.
The prosecutor said that his office was executing a National Harassment Prevention Plan. EFE
