Venezuela demands Guyana «Cesar Lie Campaign» and stick to the Geneva agreement

The Venezuelan government demanded Guyana Cesar in the lies campaign and adhere to the Geneva agreement to solve the Esequibo dispute.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that the president of the neighboring country, Irfaan Ali «shows despair and blatantly lied when Venezuela unveiled the false flag plan.»

«Sooner or later you must sit at the negotiating table to achieve the practical and mutually acceptable arrangement that the Geneva agreement sends. This instrument is in force and is the regulatory framework that must be fulfilled in good faith by the parties, according to international law ».

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the statement issued by the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, on the occasion of communication sent by Venezuela to the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization.

In his statement, Guyana continues with his desperate and irresponsible attempt to distort and ignore the legally binding obligations assumed with the signing of the 1966 Geneva Agreement, according to which the territorial controversy over the Esequiba Guayana must be resolved through a practical and mutually acceptable arrangement between the parties.

Venezuela has shown that Guyana not only sabote the process of good trades developed by the UN Secretary General in accordance with the Geneva Agreement, but also exercised undue and legitimate pressures on the General Secretariat so that the controversy was irregularly referred to the International Court of Justice, in violation of the UN letter itself, thanks to the lobby and the financial support of the exxonmobil.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela confirms that the International Court of Justice has no jurisdiction to know the unilateral demand of Guyana on the «validity» of the arbitration award of 1899. Faithful to its historical position, Venezuela will never recognize any decision that emanates from that instance on the
Territorial controversy around Guayana Esquiba. This position has been overwhelmingly ratified by the Venezuelan people in the advisory referendum held on December 3, 2023.

Guyana’s lies will become their own torment. Sooner or later you must sit at the negotiating table to achieve the practical and mutually acceptable arrangement that the Geneva agreement sends.
