Venezuelans enjoy carnival with parades of floats and shirt visits

The Venezuelans enjoyed this Sunday of the traditional Carnival parties, which included shirt visits and parades of floats in La Guaira.

Hundreds of people gathered in La Guaira to see the passage of 29 floatswhich represented Caracas and Guairenses parishes, adorned with issues related to national fauna and flora, said the governor of the coastal entity, Alejandro Terán.

The passage of the floats, belonging to public and private institutions, left paper and caramels scattered among the followers, during a tour of east to west on the coast that concentrated, according to preliminary calculations, about 300,000 people, the official added.

Meanwhile, on one of the beaches of the coast, LuzMarys Tejada, assistant of the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (INEA), told EFE that since Friday a land and maritime operation is maintained to protect the safety of visitors.

Tejada explained that national and state police officers participate in the operation, as well as coastal guards, Firefighters and Civil Protection officials.

More than 2,300 recreaters

On the other hand, more than 2,300 recreaters were deployed in the country 150 points of «high impact»where sports activities such as football and beach volleyball are carried out, reported the head of the Ministry of Sports, Franklin Cardillo, to the Venezuelan state television channel (VTV).

VTV also reported that in Caracas a five -kilometer race was held this Sunday in which they participated 2,000 athletes within the carnival frameworkwhich started on Saturday and will end on Tuesday.

This Monday and Tuesday will take night activities on the Los Próceres Paseo, a traditional meeting point during the carnivals in the Venezuelan capital, the president of the Tourism Corporation of Caracas, Cecilia Requena, informed the state channel.

Since last Thursday, a total of 190,495 military and police, among other state officials, mobilized in the country as part of a security plan for the Carnival parties, reported the head of Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello.
